We have five centers located in the Mat-Su Valley and Chugiak with a variety of jobs. For a list of employment opportunities, click on the orange tab above. CCS Early Learning has many different career paths for individuals interested in careers that contribute to the work we do to help make a difference in our communities. We have full-time, part-time, and on-call, employment opportunities in several areas including:    Early Childhood Education, Family Services, Nutrition, Advocacy, and Management & Business

Jobs that start in August 2015

Preschool Classroom Teachers at Wasilla, Sutton and Meadow Lakes, Full-time mid-August - mid-May. $15.50 - $19.00 w/benefits

Preschool Classroom Aides at Sutton, Eagle River/Chugiak and Wasilla. Full time end of August - mid-May. $11 - $13 DOE/E

Cook at the Eagle River / Chugiak Center, 35 hours per week, school year schedule. $13.50 - $16.50, full benefits.

Kitchen Aide in Wasilla. Full time end of August - mid-May $11 - $12 w/benefits

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Criminal Record Check - State of Alaska
  • Clear State Barrier Crimes review for Palmer, Wasilla, Meadow Lakes
  • Fingerprints for Fedeal Criminal Records Clearance
  • Current TB Test
  • Health Physical
  • Policy Council Approval for Head Start positions
  • Three positive professional references
  • Copies of transcripts if a degree is required
  • Copies of any certificates or credentials required by a position

Post- and Continued Employment Requirements

  • CPR / First Aid Certification (for some positions)
  • Food Worker Card (for some positions).
  • Health Physical – Annual Health Reporting
  • A minimum of 20 hours of annual training
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Employee Statement with two forms of identification required by the immigration reform and control act to ensure individuals are authorized to accept employment in this country
  • Driving Record Release form
  • Proof of current Auto insurance
  • Other In-house forms and requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Head Start teaching positions require a degree in Early Childhood (or related area)
  • Early Head Start teaching positions require a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • Each position has additional education and experience requirements as well as requirements for specific knowledge, skills and abilities that are listed on the job description and vacancy announcement.

Most of our Head Start positions are seasonal with staff working from approximatley mid-August to mid-May with most school holidays and breaks off as well. Early Head Start positions are full year (49 weeks), there is a 2 week layoff at Christmas and one wee in July.
