Our new Sutton-Palmer Head Start Center will be at Sutton Elementary and we will be hiring for open positions and always need good substitutes we can call CCS Early Learning has many different career paths for individuals interested in careers that contribute to the work we do to help make a difference in our communities. Individuals with high school, vocational, secondary, and post-secondary educations can consider positions with CCS. We have full-time, part-time, and on-call, employment opportunities in several areas including:    Early Childhood Education    Family Services           Advocacy    Management & Business

  • Criminal Record Check (Provisional)
  • Clear State Barrier Crimes review for Palmer, Wasilla, Meadow Lakes
  • Clear Municipality Barrier Crimes review for Chugiak
  • Fingerprints
  • Current TB Test
  • Health Physical
  • Interested Persons Report – (Alaska State Troopers report, $20 fee paid by employee - Chugiak Staff Only)
  • Policy Council Approval for Head Start positions
  • Three positive professional references
  • Copies of transcripts if a degree is required

Post and Continued Employment Requirements

  • CPR / First Aid Certification
  • Food Worker Card (for some positions). Information, training and online testing is available here for Palmer, Wasilla, and Meadow Lakes Centers. Chugiak Center staff need to go to the Municipality of Anchorage building to take the test in person.
  • Health Physical – Annual Health Reporting
  • A minimum of 20 hours of annual training
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Employee Statement with two forms of identification required by the immigration reform and control act to ensure individuals are authorized to accept employment in this country
  • Driving Record Release form
  • Proof of current Auto insurance
  • Other In-house forms and requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Head Start teaching positions require a degree in Early Childhood (or related area)
  • Early Head Start teaching positions require a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • Each position has additional education and experience requirements as well as requirements for specific knowledge, skills and abilities that are listed on the job description and vacancy announcement.
